Questions
Short answers to the things people ask us most.
Sending a card
How do I send a card?
Pick a card, add their first name, and Knock Knock gives you a link to send on WhatsApp, by text or anywhere you like.
Can I change the message?
Yes. It comes pre-written to help you out, but you can rewrite it, up to 280 characters.
What if they don't reply?
When you send it, you pick a window: 3 days, a week, or no deadline. They read the matching line at the bottom of their card. When it runs out, the invitation gently closes. Knock Knock never follows up, and never presents silence as a no.
Can I send another card after a no?
After an answer like “Not for me”, there's no follow-up. After “I'd rather leave it there” or a block, you can't send them any more cards.
Receiving a card
Do I need an account to reply?
No. You open the link in your browser and answer in one tap. No account, no app, no email address.
Does the person receiving a card pay?
Never. Getting a card, answering it and playing mirror questions is always free, and they're never offered anything to buy.
Will the sender know I opened their card?
No. Knock Knock never shows whether a card was opened. The sender only sees your answer, when it arrives.
What does saying no look like?
Your answer arrives exactly as written, like “Not for me, thanks for asking”. You don't owe an explanation, and the sender sees a message telling them not to follow up.
How do I block or report someone?
Tap “Block” or “Report” at the bottom of the card you received. Blocking is instant and discreet: they aren't told, and their cards no longer show on your device.
Free and paid
Is Knock Knock free?
Yes. 17 cards are free forever. More cards unlock by pack in the app, with a one-time payment.
What's in the paid packs?
The Date, BFF and Halloween packs add 6 cards each, for €2.99. “All of Knock Knock”, at €19.99, unlocks every paid pack, now and to come. They're only sold in the app.
Is there a subscription?
No, never. It's a one-time payment: a pack you buy is yours to keep. No free trial, no slashed prices, no promotions.
Knock Knock in general
Is this a dating app?
No. Knock Knock is for asking, offering or saying something to someone you know, in a more fun way than a text. It isn't a messaging app or a therapy tool either.
What data do you keep, and for how long?
Card content is deleted after 90 days. The thread, which only keeps milestones, is deleted a year after your last card. You can wipe your data in one go. No trackers, no ads.
Is there an app?
Yes, on Google Play as “Knock Knock: cards to send”, and coming soon to the App Store. No app needed to answer a card: it opens in your browser. Paid packs are only sold in the app. If the app is installed, card links open straight in it.
Which languages is the app in?
French, English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and German. The card shows in the language its sender picked.
